  1. I’ve been having pain in my wrist from repetitive motion. AYSTYM sounds like a resolution. How do I find a doc that will reccomend this therapy?

    1. Hi Kim,
Thank you for submitting a question to the Astym Blog! Astym therapy has shown great success in many soft tissue conditions, such as tendinopathies and soft tissue dysfunction and helps eliminates or reduces unwanted scar tissue that may be causing pain or movement restrictions. To find answers for your particular situation, we recommend being evaluated and advised by a trusted healthcare professional who can talk with you about the specifics of your current situation. To find out if Astym therapy is right for you, we recommend making an appointment with an Astym Certified provider. You can find a full listing of all Astym Certified clinicians at http://astym.com/Main/ProviderSearch. We wish you the best in your recovery!

    2. After having stem cell treatment in my knee, scar tissue built up limiting my range and motion and stiffness. Physical therapy for the lady 2 months has showed a 10 degree improvement. Would AYSTYM be a better treatment to break up scar tissue and improve flexion?

      1. Hi Debbie,

This is a great question! Astym treatment focuses on activating the regenerative mechanisms of the body by using scientifically developed protocols to engage the body to resorb problematic scar tissue and stimulate the healing of soft tissues rather than break up the scar tissue. Before getting treated, we always recommend being evaluated by an Astym Certified provider to see if Astym therapy is right for you. Astym therapy is known to be a consistently safe & effective treatment for scar tissue. After Astym treatment, patients report significant improvements in mobility and pain relief. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
