What Is Insulin Injection Site Fibrosis?

Diabetes is an increasingly prevalent disease within the United States, with an estimate of 30.3 million people having diabetes as of 2015. That’s roughly 9.4% of the United States population diagnosed. Some diabetics require insulin injections to regulate their blood sugar. The insulin is injected into select locations of the body where the fatty tissue is ideal for the absorption of insulin. For the insulin-dependent diabetic, injections are a part of daily life, but regular injections into the same location can come with side effects. An Effective Treatment For Painful Scar Tissue – SciPod

“Scar tissue formed after surgery or injury often ends up being painful and limiting movement for patients. Although there are a number of possible treatments, these options are expensive and often have only limited success. According to Drs. Michael Mont, Morad Chughtai, Jared Newman, and their colleagues, a revolutionary new approach is now available. Called Astym therapy, the new method works by stimulating the body’s own mechanisms of regeneration for soft tissues and re-absorption of scar tissue. Astym Therapy Got rid of my Back Pain

After driving back to Wyoming from Nebraska my lower back was starting to kill me. At one point it was so bad that my back would lock up and put me on the ground… I went to Momentum Physical Therapy and on my first they had me do stretches and an Astym treatment… after the second treatment 2 days later I could get up out of bed and out of my office chair with little to no pain. Astym therapy is amazing and I can’t wait to get on the golf course once the weather gets better. I can do things again that I wouldn’t do in fear of hurting my back. Knowing that I can go get Astym therapy if it starts hurting again is true peace of mind.

Astym Helped In My Post-Surgery Recovery

I broke my tibia and fibula in my right leg. I did not receive proper physical therapy after my injury and was in a wheelchair for several months. I finally made it to SERC in Liberty, Missouri and began receiving the treatment that I needed. My muscles were extremely tight and I had very little ability to move my legs on my own. My Physical Therapist introduced me to ASTYM. At first, my muscles were so tender that I thought it hurt. After another try, I understood more of what it was about and began to feel how well it worked. I am thrilled that my PT has included this in my therapy and believe that it has helped me tremendously in my recovery.

Astym Therapy Relieved My Lower Back Pain

I had chronic low back pain that was preventing me from sleeping. I would wake up at 3 in the morning in pain and had pain throughout the day when sitting, walking, or driving. In addition, I had very little flexibility in my lower back. I had tried creams and heating pads. I don’t like to take painkillers, so I was looking for an alternative. Astym was a miracle treatment. After the first visit, I could detect a reduction in pain and improvement in my flexibility. After 6 visits I am very thankful to be sleeping through the night again and not waking up in agony. I would highly recommend this treatment.
